Red Zora (5)
Bringing back the rock chick genre, and with more influences than possible to count (including 80's/early 90's guitar driven alternative sounds, a little funk, punk and power pop.) The band hails from different parts of this crazy and beautiful world including Germany and the great southern land (down under). Red Zora formed in Sydney Australia in 2007 and bring together their own unique sounds and talents, but share a common sensibility and energy towards the music that is fantastic to watch and listen to. -
The Khanz (16)
“Musical boundaries suck”, says singer Themba. “Music is just about playing and dancing and having fun together. That’s how it started. And that’s how it still is in Africa and South America. Sometimes, in all that commercial, competitive side of things, we lose that. And we want to keep that kind of community feeling alive. You know, life can be a bitch, let’s party.” -
Michael Cullen (8)
After nine years of silence Michael has commenced work on the follow up to Love Transmitter. His curiosity piqued by discovering some unfinished songs during an archiving exercise, Michael was inspired to start work again. He has enlisted the timEbandit to assist with production, engineering, a little sitting on the drum stool and embellishing the songs with the peerless judgement for which he is rightly famous. The project has two elements. The first, to finish a number of uncompleted songs recorded over the years at Karmic Hit, Spacejunk and Damien Gerards. The second part of the project is to record a clutch of new songs penned by Michael in a recent feverish couple of weeks -

Hammock (1)
Chasing After Shadows…Living with the Ghosts followed in May 2010. Darker and more massive sonically than Hammock's previous releases, the album was mixed by Tim Powles of The Church and features the duo's first usage of a horn section, string quartet, and live percussion. David Altobelli's influential video for “Breathturn” was released in late March 2010. The songs reached the ears of Steve Kilbey, lead singer of The Church, and inspired by Hammock's sound, he wrote lyrics and performed vocals on "No Agenda". His bandmate Powles contributed vocals and lyrics to "Verse for Forgiveness". As of this writing, both songs are to be released as a vinyl EP in summer 2011 along with two new Hammock songs. -
Montpellier (24)
“Timeless Australian Indie-Pop” is how Australian Independent Record (AIR) boss Nick O’Byrne describe Brisbane four-piece Montpelier’s brand of melodic indie-pop. Think The Shins, Death Cab For Cutie and Doves, and their blend of wistful and poetic lyrics, weaving melodies and sharp rhythms. -
Regular John (15)
Psychedelic Hard Rock concerned with matters of space and time and the transcendence thereof using the powers of loud amps and the ancient methodology of The Four Piece Rock Band. We summon our powers through vintage amps, analog synths, hawk headed beings, mycological science, the rites of pan, soltice's and equinox's, UFOS and of course, peace and love. -
Lyall (1)
After recording in an Ethiopian bungalow - The Africa EP paints a culturally prophetic picture of Lyall's recent 4 month journey to the magical land. Lyall's stories are told on a bed of psychedelic loops and penguin paperbacks.
